Avonvale Veterinary Centre Supports Lucy Creek

Team member Lucy Creek has been very lucky to receive personal sponsorship from her vets, Avonvale Veterinary Centres group

This fantastic vets look after all four of her dogs and despite all the dogs, at various times, having to have procedures done on them, they are still happy to visit the vets as the staff are always so friendly!

Avonvale will be covering the cost of team members Skiffle and Teasel's rabies boosters as well as supplying them with parasite control.

Lucy says, "We are very lucky to have such a supportive vets. We use Avonvale Wellesbourne all the time. They are a great vets and the hydrotherapy unit is good too. Having four dogs we have also made use of the great out of hours service at the Warwick vet centre, which has always been most helpful and efficient.

We are so thankful they are sponsoring us once again! Thank you Avonvale."

Caroline Garrett's Auctioned Lesson

Team GB member Caroline Garrett today gave a one-to-one Heelwork lesson to Susan and her dog Ollie during the Team GB training day at Tomlinsons, Leicester.

Caroline said that Susan and Ollie are a 'lovely team showing a lot of potential for the future'.
Caroline commented afterwards that both were very receptive to the techniques and exercises suggested and she looks forward to seeing how they progress in the future.
Susan said that Ollie went home for a nap and it is hoped that he was dreaming about everything he had learnt.
Team GB would like to thank Susan for her donation to the Team fund

Lucy Heath's Auctioned Lesson

My Team GB auction One to One Lesson was won by Hayley for her daughter Alisha.

Due to them bidding such a generous amount we decided to make the lesson two hours long instead of one!

For the first hour Alisha, who is a wonderful and talented young dog trainer I have met many times before, worked with her own dog, a Cockerpoo named Mitzi.

Alisha already has quite a selection of moves and trains with fellow Team GB member Kim Lyddon.  We worked on some clever new tricks such as walk backwards at distance, reversing around Alisha, pivoting, send away around a prop and jumps over arms.
Once Mitzi was tired, Alisha had some practice handling three of my dogs - my Shetland Sheepdog, Ash, my Smooth Collie, Trent and my 15 month old tiny crossbreed, Dizzy.

When the lesson was over, Alisha and her mum very kindly gave me a beautiful bunch of flowers and a box of chocolates.
We had lots of fun and I look forward to seeing them at more events soon!
Here is a video compilation of our day VIDEO

On behalf of Team GB - thank you Hayley and Alisha!

Skiffle on Film!

Skiffle Creek has been raising funds by trying his hand at being a film star!

The community based film project, the Snowballkickers, has just spent three years making a movie, released April 2017. They have now turned their hand to a series of film shorts. The one Skiffle is involved with is called 'It's a Dog's Life'. We won't give the story line away but suffice to say it's a dark comedy which I think should be very good when it's finished.
SETTING UP A SHOT
All ready to start!
Skiffle ready for "Action"
Being a community project we weren't expecting to be paid but the director said they would make a donation to our team fund. We are shocked and so happy with the very generous £75 donation.
Thank you so much to the director Darren Scott and The Snowballkickers. We hope you 'break a leg' with the rest of the filming!

Lucy Creek Talks to the Local Women's Institute

On Monday evening Lucy Creek and team members, Skiffle and Teasel, as well as HTM TEAM GB supporter, trainee - Maple, were invited to give a presentation and demonstration to the local Women's Institute on: Heelwork to Music; Freestyle; and general dog training.

They spoke about, and demonstrated, the training involved in the sport as well as showing them a full Heelwork to Music routine and a Freestyle routine. The WI members seemed fascinated and asked lots of questions. The evening ended with the WI members presenting Lucy and her dogs with a donation towards HTM TEAM GB. Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves.

Thank you from all HTM Team GB for the donation.
